the only issue you have is fitting the 2 prongs US adaptor into the 3 prong UK socket. A travel adaptor will sort that.

I read that this doesn't work for some PCs and even some Macs. Not enough current supplied thru the USB port or something like that.

I know that an iPhone charges a lot faster from a wall socket than via USB...

Is the iPad really worth it? I mean, spec wise, i could get a tablet for half the price which would out perform it...and the iPhone 4 has better specs then the iPad... so wasnt really sure if it was worth it.

It took 4 hours for the chinese to have a copy of the ipad on release day. The iped is 1/8th the price and running the android platform. Checkout ebay for one. It has USB ports and is expandable via SD memory cards.

It's interesting to see that every company is now copying Apple in creating tablet computers, amazon, sony, samsung... Other companies should set them selves apart and create something innovative like Apple does, otherwise they will always be second place. The problem with the iPad seems to be that it would be awkward to carry around with you, I guess that accessory would get round that problem

I've come to love my iPad. I have the 32gb 3G version.

Negative points so far are that its not easy to hold for long periods, and the screen is definitly not as fingerprint friendly as the iphone.

Positive points are the fantastic apps that are customised for the ipads larger display and its general usability.

btw, a tip from something I learned recently.
If you go into the App Store, click genius, and then click iPad updates it shows you what iPhone apps you have that can be upgraded to iPad compatible versions. many developers release a single version of the app that works on both, detecting which device its running on, but others produce separate apps for iPhone and iPad. This Genius feature show you the latter so yo ucan take best advantage of the iPad

according to Engadget, apparantly Orange are taking pre orders for the 16gb 3g iPad at £199 on a 2 year contract (although currently the "Buy iPad" page isn't working). 32gb is £249 and 64gb is £349.

This is the first subsidised iPads I've seen so I guess thats going to make them more affordable for people.

I have the 32gb 3g iPad and I love it! Its definitly not just a "large iPhone" as I use quite different apps on the iPad than I do on the iPhone.

Also, iPad gen 2 rumours are starting to surface suggesting it cameras front and back, gyroscope and possibly a retina display and will also be slimmer possibly sporting a carbon fibre housing for strength, and will be out end of Q1

I have The Daily installed and I have to say its good, but not as innovative as I expected

shame its only for US at this time too so I look forward to some UK, or given that its form an Aussie media baron, some Aussie content!

still... it now has a firm place in the media page of my ipad
