I'm just asking if What is the purpose of having 208.67.222.220 as a DNS server address?

You need a DNS to translate URLs into IP addresses. A URL looks like www.esato.com. An IP address looks like 58.127.222.08(not esato's IP I know). Humans prefer to remember letters and not numbers.
I don't want a signature anymore.

A DNS sever is where the computer goes to translate a web addresses that you type in into a series of numbers.

So basically you type www.esato.com, the browser goes to a DNS server then it converts the web address in alpha form into a series of numbers.

When you specify DNS servers, this is the order they're referred to when looking up IP addresses. Basically you go to a web site, the computer asks the server at the first specified DNS, like 208.67.222.222, for the proper number. If this server doesn't give a number because it is overloaded with requests or offline or not working at all, then the computer will ask the server at the specified secondary DNS, for instance, 208.67.220.220 for the site's IP. Then it will prompt you that there is no page to display.

But, they claim that it can boost you connection in putting DNS servers, i can't explain why...

I put it on my K750 phone, it suddenly boost my internet speed out of it, and it may depends on the DNS, if many users are using it and may affect the latency of the DNS.

I dont know if it has some effect on some nokia phones or other brands.

(I dont know what latency means, it sounds good to me, wihihihi, wow enlish)

dns or no dns, what is more important is that the given trick is working and stable. stability is paramount vs speed and dns.

@litemint, latency = delay. high latency = bad, low latency = good.
