Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson support centre.

They told me via email that there is a bug fix update coming and a possible feature change to the current dictionary, but there are no plans to update the symbian software like the major update for the Nokia.
Also there will be a new Full Facebook app for the Satio to replace the awful one they currently have.. |

Lol,wow SE. Have SE ever done a big update? Besides adding Face Detection to the C905?
Satio is now the only S60v5 without any S^2 features, theres no way SE can ignore that. . . . .

Well if they do as good a job as Nokia have with the N97/N97 mini then we will all be returning our Satio's in disgust. At the moment, I have a phone that is very stable, works every time first time, and does what I want not what it thinks it should do. I will wait and see what all the early updaters think before I will take the plunge, learnt my leason with the N97, and that is still waiting for voda to come and collect it.

N97/N97-Mini Widgets cleary require far too much, if people opened their eyes and looked at 5530xm, 5230xm, 5800xm and X6, all which also now have S^2 features yet are so stable, funny enough they dont have the same type of Widget Homescreen or whatever else the N97s have that could cause such havoc. Although i dont think the N97-Mini has had the same type of crazy amount of complaints the N97 and Satio had. Or has it?

N97 mini is having allot of returns as well according to the guy from voda I spoke to, also Orange are withdrawing it from their lineup. N97 is already gone from most networks, and yes it could have something to do with the widget screen the N97 has, and yes the 5800 and others seem to be very reliable, but I can only go by what I have used. I have always been a SE user and Ericsson before that. At the time of my upgrade there was nothing new to make me get another SE, so I went for the N97. Due to the issues I have had with that phone, I am unlickly to try a nokia again. Maybe I am a lucky SE user as I have not had any major issues with SE products, I have both a K850 and a C905 that have never suffered one issue, never rebooted, never had and sudden death issues, they just work every day all day. Maybe the N97 and Satio were rushed out, but we the consumer only have our selves to blame for that, but it is how the issues are dealt with that matters, and Nokia are still sat with their heads in the sand with the N97 and the lack of replacement parts to fix the issues with has not helped.

Fair enough, ive had the same expierence as you,but vice versa, the K850 was awful for me,yet the Nokias have treated me well.
Se dude
Mainly Kinetic Scrolling in the whole UI, and other under the hood and UI enhancements like in Alarms,Calls, updated Real Player, and Flashlite3.1 it seems.

Err..sounds odd to call them a Symbian^2 feature. Symbian^1 doesnt have a feature set in itself. Its what the manufacturers incorporate in it.I am sure the flash lit versions shall be upgraded in the Satio. Dont see any major improvements other than that though. |

Well they've referred to them as features from S^2 that have been ported back S^1, the Widgets are another one, basicaly all that the N97Mini has brought in,as it came with fw 2.0 straight out the box.
SAMSUNG are doing the same thing.

Are you talking about the live widgets, which when activated makes the phone go into a COMA mode? |

From my experience that was sorted in V2.0 and theres a fw coming any time now.
And havent had any problems with the new Homescreen in my 5800.
