NOKIA have just released a new firmware for the 5800XM, FW: V40.0.005, which brings in Kinetic Scrolling and obviously the usual bug fixes: http://www.fonearena.com/blog[....]-brings-kinetic-scrolling.html
Its available on both Nokia Software Updater and OTA (over the air)

i thinks this is the reason why nokia didn't decrease the price of this phone in the market

Just updated almost an hour ago, CPU still at 434mhz,but the phone like any update is more snappy. The new Home Screen is great, although i turned Off the Contacts Bar as i realy wouldnt use it lol,its just a fancy pancy feature IMO lol, as long as i have Telephone, Contacts and Email shortcuts im happy. ,Kinetic Scrolling is amazing, makes browsing through Music so much easier and fun lol. Debranded my 5800 when updating so even the start up is faster, overall im happy.

If you have a hacked 5800 then don't hard reset the phone after update as the hacks won't work.

And as yet the new firmware is not hackable.

i tried updating my phone via NSU and FOTA but to no avail. NSU says that i have the latest firmware and FOTA says that there are no available updates. I was able to update to v.31.0.101 some days ago via FOTA.

You will have to change the product code with something like Jaf or Nemesis Service suite.

is the new firmware going to be available for Asian versions of the 5800xm after a week or so? i wouldn't want to change the product code of my phone as of now because it might void the warranty.

Who knows ??? Nokia are useless when asked.

Changing the product code should only effect the warranty if they find out, plus once you have updated you can then change it back to your original.
