Video playback on Satio |

Hi All
I have recently started ripping my DVD's onto my Satio, and after finding out the screen resolution is quoted at 640 x 360, I have set the conversion software to these values, my question is, is there any benefit to setting the quality higher than this? like say. 840 x 560?
Would more pixels mean the quality would improve even though the phone is 640 x 360? because I have always thought the more pixels the better quality, so would squeezing more pixels onto the Satio show a better quality? or would it make no difference or get worse even?
thanks |

None whatsoever. You'll just unnecessarily increase the file size.

no difference what so ever. I have music vids on my omnia hd, in avi format, that are 720 x 680. The phone gives me the option to ignore the size and to stretch it fullscreen.0r have it how the video is originally. File size will me much bigger..obviously. |

Nope, not much difference as above, my South Park episodes in my 5800xm are at 512x384 in avi format and look great, but i do think its better to just better to have them at 640x360 res,as you can bring up the frame rate, and the quality will still be great.

@mikely_28 You were correct. None of the ones i have downloaded seem to work properly. Meh i`m sure there is another player around. |

the omnia comes with DivX codec built in, another failing of the satio but then again the are shortcomings with the omnia too prob biggest being the flash and the 24fps video |

the flash isn't really a 'problem'. ive gotten some ok nightshots using the flash. of course, i'd prefer xenon. as for the video it appears that it is somehing samsung will address in the coming update..so overall, it seems it'll be a far better handset than it has been. and imo, it was a fantastic handset already. |
