So its the end of 2009 tomorrow another decade has gone and the world keeps spinning technology keeps getting more advanced. My point of this thread is to ask everyones opinions on what your fave gadgets or advances in technology are or were from the last decade? And what were your fave phones from the last decade? Also do any of you remember where you were and what you doing when the year 2000 struck? Why i ask is because we all remember the Millenium Bug which never actually happened Were you out partying or were you sitting by all your gadgets worried to see if everything would crash with the so called Millenium Bug. I was out and i had a Vodafone mobile and it stopped working for hours and the time did go funny. But despite a few things nothing really happened with the so called Millenium Bug. Lets hear what you were doing around then and your best gadgets from the past decade?

The iPod is a pretty big gadget, and what about the K750 and K800? |

The millennium bug was disappointing. New years eve was spent with friends, nothing spectacular, a bit boring to be honest. Best gadget from the last decade has to be the iphone. Next decade? 10inch touchscreen tablets will replace net- & notebooks, these will destroy newspapers and even books. Anyhow, happy new year!

Yeh, tech will grow but not as fast as it used to do. It's already going much slower than it used to. There should be a huge development in new energie though. I'm expecting something totaly new, not wind or water but . . . I don't know.

I guess my favourite bits of tech from the last decade have been the obvious contenders,
Iphone
n95
BB Bold
Virgin + hd
50mb broadband
Psion revo & 5mx
Dslr cameras
Nintendo wii
And the best thing about all the new hi tech gadgets is most of it was affordable.

I remember watching the film 2010 A Space Oddessey and thinking back then i wonder what the world would be like in that time. Now we are upto 2010 and technology is nothing like what we see in films of the future back then. My fave innovation of this decade is Hi definition tv i simply love it on a huge screen. And also mobile phone technology advances

Psion revo & 5mx launched in 1997 and 1999 respectively so you can't count those!
Dslr cameras
Nintendo wii

@nanu: you had to spoil the spirit like that?
I'm not a very techy guy, but I can say that this nine years coulda been better. A lot of loved ones left us. But it's brought new loved ones. It's all like sinus' graph(ups and downs):

@tranced nice statistics.. I agree with your idea.. The tech of the outgoing decade has its ups and downs.. Like the woes on Windows Vista and the success of numerous gadgets..

I agree with most of what voda_jon is saying. My top 3 gadgets have got to be:
Just generally mobile phones (Although I would pick the K750i as the best)
TV's, from SD to HD, plasma to LCD, and LCD to LED, and lets not forget, 14" to 62"!
Video gaming. Again, SD to HD, and also the different consoles, ideas, and ways to play.
