What phones would you recommend? |

I could really do with a new phone. I currently have a W910 and it's absolutly CRAP.
However I don't have a clue what to get. I am looking for something on pay as you go as I'm on a sim only deal. And also I'm thinking about moving from O2 to vodafone, I can get unlimited texts and 300 mins for 15 a month, currently pay 20 and get 600 mins but don't use them. O2 won't give the voda deal. Do you think O2 will when I say I'm leaving?
I am really liking the W995, it seems to be the nearest thing to the W900. But what sort of prices am I looking at for one? I may be willing to go on a contract but vodafone don't do it, and O2 offer me the most pathetic deal.
Can anyone help? Thanks
EDIT: My friend who said they'd give me their C902 isn't getting their upgrade till march, don't know what's up with their contract, must be 2 years. And also I'm open to all maunfacturers

havnt got a suggestion for a phne. but why not go on tmobile payngo. for 15quid top up per month youl get unlimitd texts 250mins and 3gb of web. thats only 50mins less than o2 sim only but youl get 3gb of web as well. (with new tmob sims u get unlimitd texts and 3gb free with every top up over 10quid. and if u top up 15quid u can buy a 250min call booster with the 15quid u top up)

W995 is not even close to W900. Think about W900's impact at that time. Don't compare a legend with an outdated phone. Actually, comparing the W995 with the old W900 explains it all. How ironic
Anyway, I wouldn't recommend you anything at the moment unless you are fine with buying an outdated phone. Save some money wait for something better to be released next year.

Can't go with t-mob because you get no signal where I live with them
You mean the W995 is outdated? All I knew about the W900 was it was great What impact did it have?
I've been thinking and tbh I don't know if it's worth buying a new phone, just March is too long to wait really. Managed to get my U600 working again though so I guess I can use that. |

I vote W995 too, though C905 is real cheap ATM.
T700 is priced so low here in NZ it's obscene, every NZer should have one. I would if I could spare the cash.

Ditto. I have both T700 & W995 phones - both are great phones. The T700 excels in texting & calls being small in form & light to handle but it's camera is pretty decent for a non-autofocus one. Sound & music (w/ earphones) is pretty good too for it's class though the built-in speaker sound is too tinny in quality & far too low in volume. The K800i actually has a better speaker.
The W995 is really one of the best non-smartphone multimedia phones. I used MediaGo (latest version) last week to convert a 600MB Engadget video podcast and the vid played pretty clearly on the phone with clear stereo sound to boot from its dual speakers. It's also become my RSS center for news & technews plus audio podcasts from CNET. Camera is good, near Cybershot quality though the video movie capture is just decent enough for Youtube posts - most rival phones in it's class have much better video movie capabilities.
Those dual speakers are great for conference calls btw, my T700 fails in that respect - one of it's few glaring weaknesses.

@Norobiik
I disagree with you on your point regarding the video recording. It is actually one of the best in its class at ~800kbps bitrate which is why the clarity is still decent even when viewed at vga size. Most video converters don't even provide the encoding option beyond 450-500kbps and they still look brilliant at 320x240 resolution or quite good when you double the size on PC. Others in its class normally record at ~300-400kbps. Compare them and you'll come to realize the difference mate

Forgot about this thread, I'm gona get the C902 or W705.
The T700 is a really nice phone, can you get it in silver/black in the UK? And if I had the money I'd get a W995 |

How about W902- what both C902 and W705 can do, W902 can do better. Plus the wine red variant looked really sexy in my hand when I had it. It's the first and truest Cybershot-Walkman hybrid from SE and a great phone which is why I'm puzzled why it almost never gets the mention it deserves

You're right, the W902 was a good phone but it had two things against it - small screen and high price. It was the W810 replacement so many people begged for, for so long but few actually bought. It's not available new in NZ ATM, dunno if it's still available overseas.

The W902 screen is still 0.2" bigger than C902 but 0.2" smaller than W705 which is not too bad since the screen is more brilliant than my W995. It is quite expensive though but it's been a year since its release so the price should be pretty decent by now

I don't really like the W902 if I'm honest, I think it looks really bland, although it is a really good phone. I think I'm gona get a W705 now. Just need to find one in luxury silver, everywhere in the UK is doing midnight silver, which I don't like.
The only problem with the W705 is no auto focus, which I can just about live without. I've got a digital camera to take my proper photos on. Also the W705 has wi-fi, which is pretty useful My only other concern is that I think it's more suited to girls rather than boys? What do you guys think? |
