Question about unlocking and features |

HI,
I have a w518a ( att branded). I am planning to unlock it
My question is
1. WIll unlocking enable to install the custom firmware from the SE site ( not att firmware)
2. Some of the keys are assigned to att functions like web browser. Can i re assign them ?

Hi. AFAIK debranding and unlocking are two separate processes. The key mapping issue is because of the branded firmware, and i think you dont need to unlock the phone to install custom firmwares or generic ones. The cda trick will do (which is free via a2uploader. Unlocking will just let you use the phone with any SIM Card regardless of the provider. NOTE: Someone please correct me if I am wrong in any part of this post.
