c905 and "g" and "e" icons problem |

can anyone tell me how to have the grps "g" and edge "e" signal icons on all of the time?
I reflashed my c905a (western europe 1214-7311 firmware) to fix a problem and now my G and E icons only show up on my signal bar when the phone uses data and the blue globe shows up. What do I need to do to get the E and G to show all of the time? I tried to add the following lines to customize_upgrade.xml but it didn't work (I think these need to be in the customize.xml file but I don't have an extracted version of that and I don't want to use a blank file with just these lines)

e stands for edge and g for gprs. Try this

How do i read it off?
a2uploader wont read stuff off cid53 otherwise I would have taken the customize.xml and looked in it to see if there was anything I could change. I will send you the network-restore.xml from the firmware I extracted (same FW that I have installed)

I've compared it to my G705 xml. Nothing is different. Did you extract it from a firmware that has same region/CDA number to your phone? |

maybe the Edge signal is weak so sometimes you get only the Gprs signal, i don't have much knowledge about sony ericsson phones but if only it's nokia there's an app that you could locked up to that tower that supports Edge so that your phone will appear only E icon.

It's not a signal issue.
the icons instantly pop up when the phone goes to use data and the blue globe data icon comes up.
It's an annoyance that this is how its working. For shits and giggles I put a tm506 customize.xml on there and reset settings. The G and E were set correctly with it (on all the time) but the phone acted very weird (as I expected, it's a different platform but similar enough to test with). I flashed back with seus and the G & E icons are back to only appearing when data comes on.
Like I said, just an annoyance until I solve it. |

I fixed it.
I flashed a different generic western europe (1209-4774) and it's as it should be.
oh well, live an learn i suppose |
