So I "accidently my whole HDD" and I am looking to recover my saved SMS. Unfortunately I have not exported my current SMS archive. What I am wondering about is where MyPhoneExplorer stores SMS and contacts by default and what kind of extension do they have and do they contain a standard name? I.e. standard-sms-archive-name.myphoneexplorer-extension

All help is appreciated, as I have a lot of SMS's I'd like to recover.

Try to look for .mpb files. Those are the backups of MPE.

So are the files stored in that directory .mpb files no matter the content? I can't really see directory listings from my Data Recovery Software. I'm using Recuva.

Thanks for answers so far.
