Dear all,
I've been given a W960i which seems to be a great phone - however, the jog wheel doesn't work as the original owner pushed it in too hard one day! - I've ordered a replacement wheel but I wondered if anyone out there had replaced one before? I'm pretty confident about taking the phone apart (I've been doing this sort of thing for years) - but some pointers would be great

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply - I was hoping you wouldn't say that!!
Perhaps I could get a local techie to solder it on for me...
cheers

New jog wheel arrived today - I took my phone apart (tricky!) and guess what? It needs soldering

Anyone got any recommendations for who could do this job for me - I've been quoted £60 so far...

it shouldn't cost 80 quid to do this 5 min job, can you take a photo of the wheel and where it is soldered on the board

No proper pic as the phone has been reassembled - but here's a pic from the SE repair manual:

It appears to be soldered in only 3 places on the other side although there's a line of contacts (visible in the pic) I'm not sure about...
