We say SE is better than Nokia... alright agreed... but my question is how and why? lets see what you all have to say about the following

What features are there in SE that are not available in Nokia?
What SE features are better than that of Nokia?
Annoying things about Nokia and how they are not annoying in SE?
What features do you expect SE to incorporate in their future handsets?

They think that people are stupid and they have to buy every phone they have released... I bought 3-4 Nokia phones, which didn't have i versions except 8110i, which I had... I don't want to buy an expensive phone and get depressed with the "i" version... 3310-3330 is another example for these types of upgrades... Nokia is very common in Turkey, and it has become a trademark. When you say Ericsson, they think of the old GH688's and when I tell them the specs of P800, they ask me when NOKIA is going to release it. And when I tell them taha it is a , they say that it sucks. 7650 is the best phone for them. That is why I don't like Nokia phones. Whewwww... I feel better now...

From where I come from, NOKIA has also become the household name when it comes to mobile phones.

About two years ago, I bought my r380s. As I was using it, it drew a lot of attention, especially from the NOKIA users. One of them had the nerve to approach me and ask, "Wow! Mister, is that the new NOKIA R3380? Where can I buy one?"

There is one VERY important reason why not only SE, but all the other namebrands as well, are better than Nokia; THEY DON'T BREAK DOWN at the very high rates that Nokia phones do. And when or if this happens, it does not take a month to have them repaired.

I think dards is trying to clean up
well let's take the effort in consideration...

I disagree with most of u..
what I dont like about nokia is just the fact that there is more memory on SE phones
I dont use/care about Sync...
my phones hv always been resistant, wether Nokia or SE...
I dont like Nokia becuz they take forever to release a phone... they pissed me off with the 7210.. every week they wld tell me next week it will be available.. for about 5months..
I like the design of a nokia phone. I am one of those guys that loves flashy stuff.
Nokia's features meet my demands. BT is the only thing I find is missing.. altho I dont hv a BT headset I like pairing/bluejacking

y SE is better? simple really.. it gvs u more freedom in the way u use ur phone (P800)..
also they hv yet to disappoint me.. so for now, I am a SE guy...
but if someone asks me what phone they shld buy.. I never recommend SE to n e of my friends.. the only good ones r T68i, T300, P800 which r way to expensive in montreal for my friends
so I recommend nokia for them

I also like the fact that u hv a choice between faceplates on nokia. I dont like my phone being like everyone else's.. (no one here has a P800, and I bought a Bond Edition T68i, which no one has here either)

in other words, I like SE better cuz they hvnt let me down yet. but I hv nothing against Nokia.. I wldnt go around and tell ppl "ur phone is shit cuz it's nokia"
I'd say that towards motofreaks and samskunks (samsung), or n e other queer brand

want to add this:
I think that all ur rages r directed motly at nokia USERS for being ignorant of what a phone really is...
I totally agree with yall..
most ppl dont even know how to change their ringtone.. (u know it's a girl's phone ringing when u hear the nokia tune )
but the actual phones/company.. I hv nothing against

Yes .... I confess.... I am trying to clean my self from Nokia Virus Prank!!!

I used 6210 for a while but following are some of the reasons why switched back to Ericsson.

1) If you dont have a number in your phonebook, then the number appears only for few seconds on you nokia phone incase of call waiting and it changes to call2. So if you dont look at the phone screen with in a few seconds for a waiting call you do not know who is calling.

2) The "Other party call waiting" beep is so low that I used to miss it completly.

3) TechTV conducted a survay, that quite a lot of people send SMS messages to wrong numbers and end up embarassing themselves. In Nokia once you press yes to send the message there is no way to cancel it. Where as in ericsson phones you can cancel your messages while it is delivering the message.

4) In Nokia the top buttons have different functions at different times depending on where you are in the menus. So you need to always look at the screen to operate it. Where as Ericsson phones have set functions (Except for the menu key) so you can actually operate it with out looking at the phone.

5) You need to press more buttons to do anything in the nokia phone compared to Ericsson phones. For example to delete any entry in phonebook, sms list, calls list just press and hold "c".

6) Ericsson phones now have better shortcuts to different features i.e. press and hold "c" for the menu, press and hold right or left arrow for direct access to different features.

the list goes on. .....

i dont think the difference is so big, in their top-end phones, but the quality of the HW and SW of some of the cheap nokia's are completley shit. like the 3300 series. just a waste of money.. i havent really used a cheap SE, so i cant compare, but if you pay the big bucks, you get a good phone wherever, so taste plays a big part in i.e. t68i vs 5610 or whatthehellthatphoneiscalled.

I am missing one feature from the Nokia ever since I switched to the T68i. I am able to set if I can enable/disable sending mu Caller ID when I make a call. In the T68i, I have to do it everytime I make a call. Sigh......

@Garyc, i had a t68 bought on o2 & the "hide my number" option was in the menus in the "calls" section so it could be set as a default once only, for all future calls.
Then when i put an Orange network sim in the phone that menu was missing & i had to do what you said (set it up for each call individualy) so it may be a network dependant setting rather than a phone problem (each network can choose to include it or not).

wats so nyc about the SE t68i is u can browse thru the menu wid less use of the joystick.. just follow the number assigned to each task and whoala ur done.. another difference is the animated message which is equipped in our fone, animated of our emotions.. m just glad that my girl has t68i so we can send our true emotions.its boring to hav nokia, since here in the philippines almost all the people are using this stupid finland phone already.
