Prices of barely used X1s have plunged around here and I've been offered a 3 month old X1 in excellent condition for roughly US$200. The only thing that gets me worried is the problem with the cracks around the edges. The phone I'm looking at doesn't have any right now but of course there's no saying when the ugly lines will rear their head so I have two questions:

1. Is the price right for a slightly used X1a?
2. Is there a baseline production week when revamped/retooled their production line to take care of the problems with the initial batch?

I have had this phone since October 2008 and I haven't had a single problem with its build quality.
I have to warn you from its software however. WinMo 6.1 is really dull to work with and unfortunately the panels wont help you much. What you could do is to download SPB Mobile Shell 3.x or break your phone to be able to install custom made ROMs. I'm using HTC HD2 software atm and I can't be more satisfied than this really.
If you really want to fiddle with custom roms and give it a more HTCish touch, definitely give it a go.

Err, I've had an X1 myself for the past 12 months.

I'm just asking about the price and the cracks issue since mine has a couple of tiny hairline ones.

Ahh I never read that grey line bellow the message frame
I would say it's worth it.
