O2 GPRS & MMS |

I rang O2 CS the other day to enable my SIM for GPRS & in turn MMS. It has all gone through at their end. I do not have the GPRS icon (Blue Triangle thing) above my reception bars and I cannot connect to the Internet via GPRS, nor send MMS. It goes to send an MMS then comes up on the screen as "GPRS failed" - "Network or communication error. Please check your settings and try again".
Is it something that I am doing wrong or haven't I been completely set up yet? Please Help Me!!! |

I just cleared all my WAP profiles. Gone to O2.co.uk as you said and downloaded settings for the T68i GPRS Settings, then the T68i MMS settings. Still the same ( |

Just to let you know you can not have MMS and GPRS at the same time with O2. I turned my MMS on about 2 weeks ago and then realised that my GPRS said 'Not allowed' when i called O2 they said due to software problems then can not offer both services at the same time. So off went the MMS and now i have my GPRS back. I know that you can now send MMS between O2 and Orange but its no use to me without GPRS as well.

So MMS cannot be done on O2? Is that what you're saying or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

No you can have MMS or you can have GPRS but you can not have them both at the same time. I use my GPRS a lot for emails so i need it. Yes i would be good to send some MMS but seems for now you can not have both. I asked when this would be fixed and was told that they are working on it but not anytime soon.

Not sure because they are supposed to go by GPRS? To be honest never even got chance to try mine since i do not know anyone with MMS so as soon as i realised that my GPRS had been turned off i canceled the service. You can also get the MMS settings from the Sonyericsson site as well. Hopefully O2 will get there thumb for there a**s and get them working together.

Listen up people. I have an O2 Online PAYG simcard and have had access to both MMS and GPRS -> AT THE SAME TIME since last December.

I had both working too... in payandgo. Now I got a contract.
I was told I can't have MMS and full WEB ( not WAP, ) access together.
I use a Tungsten-T so MMS was removed for the same reasons most people have. Don't know anyone who uses it! lol!!
So now, I use WAP and WEB on my T-T but no MMS.

I am on O2 monthly and spoke to them again yesterday afternoon and they say that you can not have both GPRS and MMS. To be honest i think i have just about given up with them. Nobody there seems know what they are doing there. Considering moving number over to Orange. If anybody has got GPRS and MMS on O2 monthly can they say how they managed it? |

Ofiach, have you tried http://nowmms.com ?
Since that service only makes use of a GPRS connection you should still be able to send MMS. Plus, since you are only being charged for the data it should cost significantly less than the 40p that O2 want for their MMS service.
Plus, O2 shouldn't be able to tell that you are sending an MMS because you will be using the NowMMS MMSC (MMS message server).
I can't confirm that this will definitely work as I won't be able to tell until AFTER the free MMS trial period from O2 finishes this saturday.
Also, if you didn't know the NowMMS service itself is free |
