I am not surprised they are in the business of flogging the things, a forum full of unhappy customers will leave them with a lot of VERY expensive stock to move
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

isn't this similar to what happened to the K850i? at least there are some happy customers.

forum still working but the mods have just had a clamp down on repeat posts asking the same question. 'When are vodafone satio users going to know about the firmware updates'

The Forum definitely isn't shutting we've just had a lot of threads about the Satio issues/withdrawal from certain retailers so we've opened a dedicated thread for such issues. As such we've closed the previous threads with the following response:

Hello All,

We have several threads currently running on the forum with regards to the Satio & so that we can keep them all in one place and keep everyone updated at the same time, we’ve now got a Pinned Sticky on the Satio forum which will be updated as soon as we have any additional information.

In order for us to handle our announcements consistently, we will close down all subsequent threads regarding this issue and point all discussion & updates towards this sticky.

Regards

Vodafone UK also had to make a NOKIA N97 section for complaints,so its not just the Satio. Shame for the people who had to shell out so much for these devices.

Yes its a shame, but the real shame is that the providers such as Vodafone, and the manufacturers, such as SE are always so far behind, that they rush the final product, using the customer, the person at the end of the chain, spending their hard earned cash as the last quality control, its just not Fu****g good enough.
ARRGHHHHHHHH, Esato is a brilliant, up and running user group, why dont SE, for example tap into this and get their bloody products road tested prior to market, its the time it takes, aginst potential revenue generated, due to the scale of production, if a few thousand moan about the product,,,,so what!

Half of the problems we are seeing would be solved / fixed if the products
actually underwent a decent PAT or UAT prior to launch .... instead they
just ship 'em out and expect the long suffering punter to do the testing
for them .... I dodged the bullet on both the K850i and now the Satio so
I'm thinking I'm "blessed". I won't be pushing my luck with the X10 though !
Someone else can test that for them ......
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I can image how much worse the additional vodafone firmware makes the already problematic Satio software... I really don't get why some Service providers still insist in playing around with generic mobile firmware...

SE do read many forums. In fact, I am sure that they are reading this. Staff are asked to forward on discussions like this to the global team, so they can monitor. Like many companies, it is against company policy to get drawn into such conversations.

Very few companies ever get involved, but you can be sure that they're reading them. Even obscure blogs that are linked via more established sites.

The problem is that it doesn't automatically mean things are done, especially if such threads are treated as a bunch of nerds just moaning about silly and petty things. In many cases that's what it is - especially when the fan boys get involved - but the Satio is full of too many issues to ignore. And everyone that said about the problems from the outset, like we did, has been proven correct just like the K850 and many other releases.
