It shouldn't, both phones are locked to their relevant networks, in this case, Tesco Mobile and O2 UK.

The O2 ust have been unlocked then, or be old enough to have been bought before O2 had any MVNO running off them.

It was an old silver pay and go k800i which did not work with other sims

I can confirm that Bonovox is correct, having done it for customers in the past.
Exactly the same thing happens with Virgin/T-Mobile. The MNVO always wins out, try it and see.

pay monthly is a bit different and strange with 12 month/£20 tariff and 24 month/£60 tariff!
