Actually, no it didn't but it was still video calling enabled.

No ways! optical zoom is reserve for real digicams believe me, it won't spread out through phone+camera easily.
Next big thing is about 3D and it will be good gimmick and marketing when thing getting smaller and smaller these days
Think about 20MPx still image 1080p 30fps HD video capturing and plus 3D 2MPx capturing unit in 2012

The Sharp 903 had optical zoom years ago. If the iPhone suddenly featured optical zoom everyone would be clamouring for it.

The thing with optical zoom is that it's way to big for in a mobile phone. If you make it small the quality runs back and it'll have little advantage over digital zoom and if you keep it big the phone will be big. Only way out might be liquid lenses.

Prime lenses > Zoom lenses.
Pick up a real camera, do some real shooting and you'll know why.
Zoom on a camphone is the most useless "Bragging right" tech ever. Much more so than megapixel counts. |

Having that 16MP cam working in a phone will be hard and will take time. Its very small which means they would need to work hard on the software aspect, not one of their strong points. The Nokia N8 is the perfect example, the raw pics are amazing but due to crappy programming, its not that good now (check Eldar's review on it). Anyway, I don't think the 'X12' will get this camera, its more of a replacement for the X10 and if there is a 16MP phone coming soon, I have heard nothing about it.
And yes, the Moto Droid Pro is amazing and that it what should have digivolved the P1 into, the X10 Mini Pro just doesn't do it. Also, people wondering how comes the HTC HD3 isn't 1.5Ghz is because it doesn't need it at the minute. With WP7 able to run smoothly at 1Ghz, they thought it would be pointless to have such an expensive device and also, they want to establish themselves with the new OS early hence the various different models for release. Don't despair though, 1.5Ghz for Gingerbread and WP7 devices is not far away. |

A bit of a self promotion, but interesting and relevant none the less. SE won't be ready for the launch of Windows Phone 7:

Wow, that is a surprise
SE needs to do something with these delays cause they are really hurting them. But then, we've been saying the very same thing for far too long that it is a waste of time mentioning it over and over again.

I don't want a WP7 phone from SE right now. It is just another headache. Android is nice and it is ready out there. Jeez, , just make an android phone with superb hardware and camera and everyone will be happy.

1) The N8 has no true RAW output, hacked firmware or otherwise.
2) ELdar's review is a sham, he doesn't know the first thing about photography and countless others who know how to handle cameras have proved him wrong by now. A camera isn't judged by the worst picture it takes, it's by the best.
On topic:
3) The samples from the 16 MP module are astounding and should provide Nokia's 12 MP module real competition. SE, contrary to what you believe, has had the better cam optimisations among all manufacturers (I'd even go as far to say that if there's ONE thing SE knows, it's cameras.) and I'd expect a knockout from them if they use this module. The Satio has had its issues, but if there's one thing it always delighted me with, it's the camera. Watch out for over exposure in high contrast scenes and it's better than everything else in the phone realm except for the N8 now, of course.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Its mentioned that phones with the 16mpx sensor will start shipping as early as January 2011, so does that mean will drop the 12 mpx camera for the X12 (maybe X11 too?) and ship both the phones with the new 16mpx sensor instead ?
Oh and Apple is gonna be getting the 8 mpx sensor from Sony for their next Iphone
