There is a rumour going around that there might be some sanity restored to this thread sometime soon.
I too hope the X12 has better optics than Satio, even though Satio is pretty good IMO. I'm wondering if SE will use the X12 to strike back at the N8 which has the best camera on a phone so far.

@ goldenface
I really hope we do see a good camera phone. I have deliberately not bought a compact digital in recent because I've had a phone that's been good enough for my needs, but the last few I've had (Aino and X10) haven't been up to standard in my opinion. I really feel C905 was the peak of the camera phone for SE and I'd like to see them return to previous camera phone glory so I don't need to carry it around with me when I go travelling.

Yeah, me too Ricky.
The C905, with it's powerful Xenon flash and extra features was the best cam phone from SE for me - twilight shots + Xenon gave amazing results.
Now, however, I think they might have to rethink what makes a good camera phone as I don't think just piling up the mega pixels is good enough and I've a feeling if they did launch a new one, it would have some Android wizardry built in.

Google ignores Sony ericsson as an Android phone maker
Depending on you IP address, phones/contracts are shown (you can also choose your country).

Weird when SE decide they will be the champions of Android !

I agree that the C905 is the best camera phone with xenon flash, also I got it and I'm happy with it. I wish that the new phone SE X12 had a plasma flash as the SE S003. I hope that SE X12 will a worthy competitor phones such as Nokia N8, Samsung Galaxy and HTC HD

Working On Win Phone 7 Device
Oded Ran, head of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 UK division, has confimed that Sony Ericsson are working on a handset for the forthcoming platform In his interview with mymicrosoftlife.com Mr Ran said "Sony Ericsson are working on at least one Windows Phone 7 device." The added emphasis is our own. So not only will Sony Ericsson be joining the ranks of the nascent OS, but it could very well be releasing multiple devices.

1[]14MP Altek Leo to hit it off in Europe in an Android outfit
It's a good day for cameraphone lovers. First the N8 starts shipping and now Altek announce that their 14MP optical zoom enabled Android smartphone will hit Europe. And its bringing HD recording too, so it might just be what a lot of people were waiting for.
Altek Leo is the first smartphone to offer a 14MP camera with 3x optical zoom and HD video recording. There are also a xenon flash and a LED video light on board, which makes the handset a must for everyone hoping to leave their digicam at home in favor of their cell phone.
The rest of the Leo specs sheet also looks really impressive. The handset comes with a 3.2-inch WVGA multi-touch display and runs Android 2.1 (Eclair). Connectivity is taken care for by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, as well as full range of network data transfer options (GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G with HSPA). Built-in accelerometer, digital compass a microSD card slot complete the list of the Altek Leo extras.
The Altek Leo will hit European shelves in Q1 of 2011 but its pricing is still unknown.

Panasonic teases with its 13MP Lumix phone
So, it's back to the megapixel race then. After Altek announced their 14MP Leo yesterday, it's now turn for Panasonic to get higher on the megapixel ladder. The company has just set-up a teaser site for their Lumix phone, which should be announced officially on Tuesday.
Panasonic has been generous enough to reveal a few of the specs in advance so we know what to expect. First it's the 13 megapixel snapper, which we hope will live up to the Lumix digicams standards. There's also HD video and a high-intensity video light (we have our fingers crossed on a xenon flash too).
The Lumix phone will pack a 3.3" WVGA screen in a body measuring 116 x 52 x 17mm and weighing 146 grams. The final mentioned specs include Wi-Fi and a microSD card slot.
Now with that kind of thickness and the fact that the handset is going to be announced at the CEATEC in Japan (on the 5th of October) we are suspecting that it won't see much GSM love. We are certainly hoping to be proven wrong and the Lumix phone to get worldwide availability. Could the chubbiness be a result of optical zoom lens, rather than clamshell form factor?

So..it can be done..with android and any other platform id just like a good to great xenon flash on an

Cameraphones? More like phonecameras.
Still, nice to see some aggravating competition (even if it isn't coming from the big players).
