This thread explains how the reverse IP trick and open DNS works! optimized for newbies!
[COMPARISON]
device used:  K700i
application used: Opera Mini™ 4.2 (modified by Handler, distributed by litemint)
regular FBT:
normal speed - 2kbps
peaked speed - 4kbps
with DNS server:
normal speed - 3kbps
peaked speed - 6kbps
[DNS address]

[INSTRUCTIONS]
(for )
1) Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity tab > Data accounts > New account
2) Choose PS data
3) Name it according to your preferrence
4) APN: internet (for Smart); http.globe.com.ph (for Globe)
5) Save!
6) Go to the new account and Edit
7) Find "DNS address"
 Enter your preferred DNS address (choose from above)
9) Save!
10) Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity tab > Internet settings > Settings for Java™ > New profile
11) Name it according to your preferrence
12) Connect using: the one we've created depending on your network
13) Save!
14) Then go to your newly created Internet profile and press More > Settings
15) Enable proxy: Yes
16) Proxy address: global-4-lvs-seele.opera-mini.net or 80.239.242.253
17) Proxy port: 80
18) Save and try browsing!
(for Nokia S60 V3-5 phones)
1) Go to Settings > Connection > Access points > Options > New access point > Use default settings:
Connection name: (name it according to your preference)
Data bearer: Packet data
Access point name: internet (for Smart); http.globe.com.ph (for Globe)
Username: (unchanged)
Prompt password: No
Password: (unchanged)
Authentication: Normal
Home-page: (depends on your network provider)
2) Save!
3) Go to the newly saved access point and press Options > Edit > Options > Advanced settings:
Network type: IPv4
Phone IP address: Automatic
DNS address: (there will be Primary and Secondary DNS address.. fill up the Primary DNS address first using the DNS addresses list above.. you may also input another on the Secondary DNS address)
Proxy server address: global-4-lvs-seele.opera-mini.net or 80.239.242.253
Proxy port number: 80
4) Save!
5) Go to your Opera Mini Editable Server. Input this on Custom HTTP Server: http://m.olx.ph:80/ (for Globe); http://m.smart.com.ph:80/ (for Smart)
6) Now try browsing!
for Nokia S40, you need a provisional (.prov) file, request one here
[!] NOTE for GLOBE users: If ever you can not connect to anymore, change the Custom HTTP Server. Choices can be obtained from All about Opera Mini (all version) and PH network settings by aquared29
Then off you go!

Working po talaga ang DNS, gamit ko din yan noon sa K750. It works like a charm, ihihi
