I just got back from making a insurance claim on my SONY ERICSSON K790i. I have had the phone for 2 years and it has been my favorite phone so far. It was in good shape, but the ear speaker went out. So i took it in today for a claim. They brought me out a w580i and some Nokia phone. I didn't like the NOkia, didn't even look at it, as it seemed like a cheap peice of crap. I asked if I could have the same phone, and they said that they don't make the phone anymore and this was in the same "tear" as the K790i. I expressed how much I loved my phone, the camera, etc... It just didn't seem like this phone compaired at all. I mean, it is alright, but just not the same.... Did I just get ripped off? The camera doesn't even compair, and I used my k790i very often as my camera. Why in the world would it be in the same, "tear", as the k790i if all features are the same, but the camera isn't as high quality. Seems like I would have gotten another Cybershot in it's place..... I am bummed..... | |

Yes you did. Go back and ASAP and ask for a Cyber-shot. |

If they cannot provide a Cybershot, at least get a T700/W595... those have the best 3.2 MP non AF camera currently amongst all A2 models.
It will not be as good as a Cybershot, but will be much better than the camera in the W580

lol i own the w580 and the camera on it is bad , but good music and nice comfy D pad

The music is good, but my K790i had the same music features, other than the ones that I would never use, and actually, in my oppinion, sounded much better. The camera is the biggest thing to me. The w580 has all the same features as the k790i but the k790i just didn't have all the bling bling things that don't interest me anyway. I don't really care how many steps I take in a day, as I walk miles at work. All of the features that the w580 has that he k790 does not, I have no interest in. I want my cybershot! But I think they will give me the run around. I know now that when we originally got my k790 and the insurance, they told me it is great, because all I have to do is pay the deductable, no questions asked, replacement with a brand new phone, not a refurb, and if the phone is outdated, they will replace it with the updated version, not a downgrade. WELL, I confirmed it by asking my wife what she remembered when we got the insurance. It is Centenial Wireless. Nothing against the company, I just think that it is that particular store that I deal with. The original guy that I delt with no longer works there, so I can't go to him. I don't know what to do. I should have thrown an absolute fit, but that just isn't my style, and hence why i get screwed so easily. It just isn't fair. I expressed how bummed I was, and how much I loved my Cybershot.... JUst don't know what to do. |

you should FIRMLY insisted for a compatible or better phone not a downgrade, i believed they have means to do that
