Hi
Looking for some advice about repairing the joystick on a Sony Ericsson K810i. Someone has already tried to repair the phone by soldering on a new joystick, but when powered up, the joystick still didn't work. I've un-soldered the joystick and I can see that a few of the pads have been lifted off the PCB, and some of the nearby components (diodes?) have been destroyed or removed.

I've found a few diagrams which appear to suggest how to re-wire the joystick when the pads are missing, but they are not all the same.
Diagram #1 is, I think, from a K790 although it does mention K800, but the layout is slightly different. Regardless, it suggests removing the diodes.

Diagram#2 leaves the diodes in place.

Digram#3 also suggests removing the diodes.

So, diodes or no diodes? What should I do if some diodes are missing?
Also, on my PCB some of the joystick pads are still there so should I use them and only use the alternative wiring for the missing ones? Or is it best to use the alternative wiring for all of the joystick points?
Help appreciated, thanks
