How much video can you fit on a P800? |

Ok, so i have just ordered my P800 from Hong Kong. In the many hours that i will now have whilst i cant sleep waiting for it to arrive i am gonna prepare for it. Searching around the forum i have seen a few threads of MP4 encoding but none has answered just how much movie you could get onto a P800 without shelling out for another memory card. So we are talking about around 25MB of space. I have uysed virtuadub quite a few times but not recently and have no idea how large an MP4 would be at the resolutions and quality suggested... So how much can we get on, and what is an average MB/min for videos on the P800?
Cheers for any help!
P.S. any more news on when the larger memory stick duo's are gonna be released in the UK? or even when any size will be available? |

Well, it very much depends.... But I think a general rule is 1Mb=1min. which goes for both mp3 and mp4.

I often watch futurama eps on my way to work (22 minutes apx), have compressed them down to 12MB , but if you are picky on quality I dont think you would be satisified.
I also watched getaway in stockholm here the other day on my phone (10 minutes of movie) I think the filesize in that one was 14MB
So, Basically the limitation of video comes in the size of the memory stick, 16MB is way too small yet. |

Yep. When the 128Mb Duo comes out, we should be able to watch an entire movie at relatively good quality. Personally I prefer to pack it with mp3's, but it would be cool to have a couple of Simpsons episodes on there as well. Hope the wait won't be that much longer now...

Man i can't watch any because the sound is sooo far off. i can't stand it. i wish i could watch videos but there is no point when the sound is 5 seconds behind the picture. i am really mad that there is not a better program out than mpegable to make mp4s. maybe i just can't find it.

Yes, the sound is not the best! How about through the ear plugs?

i think he is referring to the lag in sound and not sound quality. |
