Actor Edward Woodward, famous for his roles in The Wicker Man and The Equalizer died today aged 79.

thats sad, but it was a good innings.

He leaves behind Michele Dotrice who he was married to since 1987. She played Betty in "Some mothers do 'ave 'em".

That is sad i just heard on radio when i got up. I used to love his acting and he was one of the best of his era.

I never realised so many famous people died this year going through that list i was quite surprised to see a few i never even knew had died

I was shocked at Stephen Gately aged just 33 I had an aunt in Ireland who died 37 its just too young

The Wicker Man is one of my favourite films of all time. Very sad.
