Who remembers James Bond driving a car with a mobile phone? Well, now this will be possible thanks to some german guys.

Researchers in Germany have developed software that allows you to drive a car - with a mobile phone.

It is part of project aimed at creating a fully automated vehicle.

Yeah, the phone used is an iPhone

It uses WiFi to connect tothe car. So you don't need a phone, just a device with WLAN.

Yeah, it uses wi-fi. Just wonder if the software used will be compatible with any other non mobile device.

You don't even need a device with WLAN. Only the car needs to receive a Wifi signal; what's to stop them putting a camera in the car and controlling it remotely from a desktop computer at home 'playstation style'?

I'm still waiting for someone to put an iPhone into the steering wheel an control the steering rack wirelessly doing away with the steering column completely. Cars need to get lighter to meet environmental requirements.

Showing off to your mates whilst you had a few beers in the pub car park, would you get arrested for drink drive? Using a phone handset while driving? A whole new can of worms gets opened with this concept!
