Backing up data from c905 to SATIO. pls help |

Hi,
I upgraded to a SATIO today and just before bying I backed my C905 being sure that restoring the data will work as with any other SE just like I did it many times before when upgrading from one SE to another.
But this time when I tried to restore c905 data on SATIO PC suit refused to do it saying that the data is not compartible with SATIO.
I sold my c905 and all the phone numbers, passwords, important notes are on my PC in Phone Backups folder. Can someone pls tell how to transfer all this data to my new phone?

I'll have a guess, you need to get a c905 from a friend and restore your backup to it, then use the SE http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/cws/community?cc=us&lc=en facility to sync your data and then restore to the satio, can't see any other way to do it. |

Hi,
I am having the exact same problem and I need to resolve it quickly. I still have my C905 with me so I don't need a friend, but I can't seem to get anything from the link provided. Please tell me what exactly did you do?

Just register on the site and you can sync all of your contacts with SE servers and afterwards restore them on any other SE phone that is supported by the service.

After you register there, you have to send the Sync settings to your C905 and Satio.
Then using Sync settings, sync your C905 to SE site and then Sync your Satio with SE site.
This has to work unless you are not able to Sync your C905 to SE.
This service is fairly easy, simple and fast enough.
Alternatively, the PC Suite back up the data in a file located somewhere under My Documents > SE .. > PC Suite or something.
Someone mentioned in another thread that you can open the backup PC Suite back up file with XMLNotepad or something. I have never tried though. Once opened you can then extract the data manually. |

Thanks for the reply... I did everything, but when I tried to synchronize to the server for some reason I wasn't able to connect. The connection just kep getting interrupted. Anyway, I managed to Sync the contacts to Outlook & then from there I sync to the Satio & it Worked!

Works fine with isync plugin on mac, sent all contacts from c905 to mac via bluetooth then imported to adress book and sync with satio fine. Major frusration at firs not being able to bluetooth entire adress book across c905 to satio as I have done for years with SE phones!! guess thats because its a Nokia in disguise, works ok with itunes too. |

Hi people, i am having the same problem. I have upgraded from a c905 to satio. I actually want to transfer all my messages to the satio. I have tried PC suite but it wont alow me to move messages. I have also tried to copy them to memory card and then copy it onto the satio memory card but still doesnt work. Can somebody pleeeeeease help me with that. Many many thanks |
