Hey there,

I have a HBH-30 and a T68i (should get my P800 this week) and my range is very limited. If the phone is in my pants pocket, the connection to the headset is already borderline quality. To be able to have a decent conversation, it should be in my chest pocket, just about 20 cm/8in from my headset.

When I lay the phone down in the room, I have to stay within less than 2 meters... not very handy.

Is this normal? Is there any sort of firmware upgrade for the headset that improves its reach? I tried unpairing and repairing several times, and it doesn't do much. Do you think this is more a problem with the HBH-30 signal, or with the T68i one?

Thanks!

Most likely it's the T68 software. The charge of the HBH-30 also makes a big difference in reception... keep the headset fully charged.

My HBH-30 works well... not as well as my older HBH-10... but it is a lot lighter, and is a lot smaller. I get around 15 feet open space with the HBH-30. Pants to ear is fine.

Definitely make sure the HBH-30 is charged up, it does make a huge difference.

After a quick glance, the biggest difference that I noticed between the 30 & 60 is that the 30 has almost twice the talk time... What exactly about the 60 makes it better than the 30?

Hi there,

I recently bought an HBH30 to go with my T68i (R6A012). However, it seems that it doesn't work as well as my HBH15.

Sound:

People say it's hard to hear me with the HBH30, but never complained with the HBH15.

Voice Commands:

It was never that great with HBH15, but it's worse with HBH 30. I was in HMV and I couldn't do a voice command with the HBH30 but no problems with HBH15.

Bluetooth Reception:

Sometimes I dial from the phone and the call will not transfer to the HBH30, even though the phone's settings are correct. Never had this with HBH15...etc. Also sometimes I have to press the talk button twice before I get the "ready for voice command" beep. Also, if I put the T68i in my knapsack behind me, reception goes down pretty dramatically, although I did this with my HBH15!

General:

My T68i can check the status of my HBH15 - ie. change orientation, passkey, check battery status, volume level, etc, but checking the HBH30 only reveals:
HBH-30 CAH109737 R3B

Did I get a dud of an HBH30?

Please help! These things aren't cheap! And everyone raves about this HBH30! Is this NORMAL?

Thanks for any advice,
Ken
