@dngeorgiev not everything slead said is 100% accurate
1. The screen IS scratch resistant but comes with a pre-applied non scratch resistant 'shatter-protection' cover.
2. Android 2.1 is the latest official FW
3. With root access (very easy to do) you can remove most of the pre-installed apps and replace them with standard android versions e.g. music app and gallery app to replace mediascape.
4. The newest FW records in 720p. The screen resolution isn't high enough to play in 720p.
5. Some still complain of low in-call volume but very few.
6. Dual-touch 'pinch-to-zoom' is enabled in the browser and all supported apps in the latest FW. True multi-touch isn't going to be available as the hardware doesn't support it.

Hi guys.
On Saturday my X10 should be delivered, so i wanted to ask a few questions, since i am new to android and this particular phone:
1. Is the screen really scratch resistant, does it need an extra protector?
2. Whish is the last official version of Android for this phone?
3. Could i somehow remove the SE addons of the phone (I want to make it have the stock android looks)?
4. Does it record HD video (720p)?
5. Do you find the incall volume quiet?
6. Is there a way to enable somehow the "Pinch zoom" option of the browser?
Thank you in advance.

As Ricky answered all your questions, I wont go through it again but just wanted to say that its a brilliant phone. I dont have latest firmware yet and dont really care much. It works charm for me. You have to realize that no phone can run without lags, as of now. Also dont miss multitouch as I think its a big hype to me. What is really good about X10? Its keyboard, not many people love it but I do. Also the feel of using it everyday. It does everything besides flash but for that I use skyfire browser. For music I use real player. Calendar, alarm, barnicale Wifi and lots of other apps works great for me. I dont play games besides glow hockey. The best thing is Wifi and 3G signals works amazing for me and its very important. Hope you enjoy your X10
Enjoy
Edit: Few apps that I would like to share with you.
3G watchdog Pro - I use this to check how much 3G data I have used. Normally I use between 1.5GB - 2GB.
Aldiko Premium - Ebooks and magazines
Adobe Reader - PDF files
CNET News - just to see what's going on around and if anything new has come out.
Checkers Free - rarely I play, but I enjoy it.
Dictionary - very good application with nice UI.
Dolphin Browser - my default browser and I love it.
ESPN cricinfo - cricket updates and live scores
Engadget - you know it!
Facebook - !
Flight track - very good application. Must have if you travel even once in 3-4 months by air.
Fox News - I love reading news so I got many applications related to news
Gtunes - download music and make mp3 too. Brilliant app.
Glow hockey - Love this game lol.
IMDB - I check latest movies and trailers
Mashable - !
Millionaire - it's a fantasy game of real time stock exchange. it's a great app for me to try and see my investing skills without putting real money.
NDTV - news app
NY times - news app
Nimbuzz - my messenger and I think it's the best.
Photaf - I use this to click panorama pics
Photoshop Express - just to play around and edit pics
Pulse - news app but has amazing UI.
Real player - I think it's by far the best app for music, videos and photos.
ESPN score center - any game, you got live scores.
Skyfire - I honestly don't like this browser too much but it's there only because of flash support
Skype - !
Speedtest - good to test your 3G or Wifi speed.
TED mobile - !
Time mobile - news app
The weather channel - great app to check weather all around the world
Twitter - !
Virtual table tennis - I use to play this a lot but now I play glow hockey lol.
Vlingo - great app while driving.
Wapedia - wikipedia
Whatsapp - messenegr
Wifi file explorer - file explorer which works through wifi and it's nice!
tTorrent - nice but I need to find a better torrent app
Angry Birds - I forgot lol. nice game.
That's about it!

Actually, just in case some of you don't know, you can now use multi touch in every app that utilises it including the browser and third party apps such as angry birds.

It was very easy to do this, just follow the instructions.

With stock FW, if you remove the right apps this phone will run 98% of the time without any UI lags.
It's a solid phone and as I've said before I believe it's the best of it's generation.
And the multi-touch is available with the newest FW without the xda hack.
Only thing the official FW misses in my opinion is two finger rotate in 3D mode in maps (two finger tilt works) and flash for the browser but that is debatable as it causes some performance degradation.

The phone is beimg sold as a new one, no warranty included and the set lacks the earphones. The prise is 225 EUR.
So do you think that is a good deal?
Thanks once again. |

from the pictures it looks to be in very good condition. what do you get more than the phone?
in store the x10 still cost around 400€ new?
(thinking of selling my x10 soon, but it has some marks on the housing :/ and i will not sell it with my Mw600 BT headset, unless i get something semiliar with the new arc.

Okey, seems like a good deal if it's new and much lower than the stores

Do you guys think that since the latest update hasn't been released in many regions an improved version of the firmware will be released with the launch of the Xperia Arc? |

@fjcarlsson seems lika a longshot. personaly i don't think they will do a new update and releasing it before everyone got the old one.

You should get a set of standard headphones and either a 2gb or 8gb Micro SD memory card in the box. Also depending on the region you might get some or all of the following items included in the box:-
CCR-80 Micro SD USB adaptor
Spare Screen Protector
Bluetooth Headset
Xperia Branded Pouch
EC500 Media Stand
In my Black X10 which was from O2 UK I got an Xperia Branded pouch,Spare screen protector and a CCR-80 but in my White Sim Free French X10 I just got the basics (Phone,battery,8gb SD memory card, wired headphones,EP700 USB cable,CST-80 usb mains charger and the paperwork)
It all depends on where you have the phone from.
