What happened to the official Q1 promise of Froyo?

There has never been such thing.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

With this big screw up, I'm on the verge of dropping the xperia x10 and possibly the whole SE. Although the xperia arc looks amazing. But if not SE, maybe I'll try the Sharp phones, Panasonic and Toshiba as well as Sanyo is coming out with android devices, too. I just hope SE max out my x10 with updates while I still have it. But really, what a disappointment, SE. Though I still like Sony. |

Ok guys,if thats the case I think its time we all keep an eye on XDA and hope a stable working 2.2 ROM is available in the near future.Or,sell this bitch and get a new phone.

They just want you to pay for a new device.
They fu...ked me this way with every smartphone.
X1 did not get WM6.5 however it could. X2 introduced instead.
X2 never got a fully stable upgrade. They just pissed on customers.
Now X10. Nice phone. Good camera, design, everything.
And capable platform. And it's a top device WITHOUT cruical upgrade with Flash, install on memory card and other goodies.
JUST BECAUSE they decided this way.
I also like Arc - nice. But besides it's only revamped X10, I lost any trust they care about customers.
I mean if X10 would get the same Android, the difference would be smaller.

You were all warned back at the beginning of 2010 and this has been one of 's failings for some while - see Satio, X1, X2 .......... However with the new devices and basically conceding their implementation of overlay skin was adding little other than huge delay and given the reality that SE no longer have the programming manpower to keep up it looks like the new devices are going to come much more "out of the box" Android with some SE side Apps (time/mediascape) which is a good thing as SE were continually falling behind on this. It does mean though that they have effectively conceded all software development for their own devices and are now just a box shifter at Google's behest; the downward spiral that started 3+ years ago is complete sadly.
The new Arc looks gorgeous tho. |

Smear campaign.Flood Twitter,Facebook,blogs,forums ect with Sony Ericsson disinformation and bad press.Make it so whenever someone Googles Sony Ericsson,the top Google hits are just negative results to the brand..Put all their new range of smartphones through the ringer before they are even released. 
Only jokes on the above.It aint in my nature and Im partly to blame for buying Sony Ericssons first Android handset.A tester phone.Im so over caring about all these new phones and cellphone technology in general.We are all just been shafted in some way or other and making them ARSEHOLES rich.
Its time to do a Bono and stop,take a deep breath and regress. 
Mmm,my boss has offfered me her upgrade if I want to take it.What should I get  (Bonovox-that HTC Desire HD is looking so good right now)
No,I will just keep this X10 and just hope that by some divine miracle the bootloader is cracked and we are able to do a 2.2 Custom ROM.

You're right man and I was naive all the time.
The same shame is with the fact they wasted many devices this way and potential market success.
X2 could easily steal from HD2 popularity.....
Probably their r&d is just pathetically small but it is probably also their strategy.

I thought they decided they weren't going to update to Froyo ages ago. I'm sure I read that the effort wasn't worth the actual benefits, so it would be upgrading just for very little gain.
