I just hope that the X10 gets updated with the one-handed zoom feature that has been demonstrated on the mini (press and hold, then swipe up or down to zoom in/out). Looks like it works well.

Yes, I'd love to see this feature included in the 2.1 update. Does anyone know?

So, does the mini X10 already come with this function?

Yes, it does. But so far it only works in the photo gallery to my best knowledge (it does not work with e.g. the browser).

many people have claimed that there is no need for task killer app......the android system use little resources when apps are idle and using task killer app actually reduce the battery life........can anyone confirm this and do u guys use task killer app on X10 ??

I've heard there isn't any need to debrand. As the branded firmware is alright?

Have you guys tried out PC SUITE for ANDROID.I came across it when I was trying to find out how to take screenshots on my X10.Its a must for communication between X10 and PC.It also has a screenshot manager where you can can take screenshots.
Heres a link.

Just click on the Android option.
The software loads up in Chinese by default on startup but just click on the small phone icon on the top left of the screen and change the lanquage preference to English.(downloaded from a chinese site)

This is their home website which I tried without success.Maybe you'll have better luck than me.

First thing I did was install a tethering app.I use Easy Tether. If you don't like that one then try PDANet.
Next I installed Helix Launcher for Donut to give me access to an extra 4 homescreens for all my goodies widgets, shortcuts ect I love the way you double tap on the the screen and all 7 homescreens pop up to access,so no sideways swiping.

Regarding browsing on the X10,Ive installed Operamini and Dolphin.Ive kept Operamini for when Im in slow internet coverage but uninstalled Dolphin. The default browser is pretty good. Its all I need at least and does the job well.

I use Advanced Task Killer.Ive put a shortcut on my homescreen and every now and then just press it to kill everything running in the background.Does it save battery life,it might I dont know.Ive never run dry in a days use.Using the Helix Launcher for Donut also supposed to preserve battery life over SE's Home.Read about it here,

I reinstalled my firmware today and decided to try running the phone without an task killer app. My experiment didn't last long; the phone ran like treacle after about ten minutes; menus stuttered, scrolling wasn't smooth at all, etc. I put a task killer back on and haven't looked back.

I've heard others say their phone ran fine without a task killer; I guess each person's experience is different.

I've installed 5 days ago the ADW launcher replacing SE's.
The battery lasts for 3 days ! And I'm still on firmware 14 with no task killer installed.
Cheers

Just installed ADW Launcher. Its cool but I still prefer Helix Launcher.
No harm in having both installed though so I might warm to it.

Welp Guys..I had to send my X10 back to SE on Monday. Late friday night the damn thing wouldnt charge. Ive tried everything. My wife has the X10 too,...so I switched batteries, chargers, still nothing. I factory reset, still nothing. What seemed funny though was that while off, while the charger plugged in and then insert the usb charger, the phone would come on. The notifcation light would instantly blink, but woudnt stay on. The battery icon wouldnt change to charging and in setting under battery status it stated "not charging". So some how the out of no where the USB port died. Oh I tried the computer and it still didnt work. Ive never dropped my phone and havent had any problems. It just happened out of no where. I sent it back on Monday, I should have it back on Thursday or Friday. Im not too worked up about it, I have another phone to use, I guess Im gettin all too familiar with sending my phone back to SE. I sent my X1i back to them 7 times cause I kept getting hairline cracks in the housing. Just wanted to share my problems with you guys incase someone else out there ever experience something similar.

Hey guys remeber me about 10 pages ago! Well ready for some comedy. Sony told me its gonna take 90 days to fix my phone. Yep 90 days to fix a faulty USB port. Their reason behind this is because I'm in the US and this phone isn't released in the US yet. So to get parts, etcs to fix it will take time. I have called them about 6 different times, and each supervisor told me the same estimate. Im fortunate that I have my Nexus and HD2 to use but thats beside the point. Each supervisor was rude, and all they could say is that its their policy. Hell people can build houses or replace car engines in less than 90 days. I work for a world wide shipping company, it doesnt take that long to ship parts. I asked them to simply send me a new phone, cuz I could get a new phone quicker than parts. They said they dont replace phone, its policy. I told them I dont have a phone to use, they said sorry, do you want us to send it back. I said NO, its broken why would I want it back, Sorry. I cant name many repairs that takes 3 months?? Especially a phone. Ive been a loyal SE owner for nearly ten years and this might be where it ends. My last two SE phone experiences, with the X1 cracks and now this is totally unacceptable. 3 months is crazy to wait....So if your in the US and have an X10 Good luck with repairs thru SE,however this is just my experience it may be different for some one else. They did say that it will be release in US later this summer. Welp, thats my story Im still laughing at the 3 months estimate! Unbelievable Sony!!

Laughable. I'd be seething mate.

Surely it will cost more in man-hours to repair the fault than it will to simply give you a new phone.

Goldenface....Im past that stage. There's nothing else I can do. Ive tried anger, patiences, inteligences, nothing. I aint got no fight left! Just gotta laugh to keep from me going off the deep end! But dont get me wrong, I still call twice a day, I call once when I get up and once in the evening. I enjoy it. Thats my only mission. One thing for certain, I guarantee my file is tagged to let the next available rep, that I aint happy.

Edit: Your right thats basically what I was trying to tell SE, they could just send me new phone. Thats what HTC does, I sent my NEXUS back and acutally HTC sends you a new device first and then you send your old/damaged phone back in the same box. They do this so that you are not without a phone. I think this is my luck for being a 1st guinea pig to everything. I got my nexus first day, the damn thing had mad dust under the screen. I got X1 first week, cracks, cracks cracks, now my X10. At least though HTC fix their problem for me and havent had a single problem since.
