16GB?! You have 1GB built in and 8GB memory card. And you need more?! Are you going to download 15 HD movies? That's not your computer! It's your phone/PDA, not your computer.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

you can never have enough memory

The 32gb in my iphone is almost full and I'm already hoping that they up it to 64gb with the next release!

yes, its not your computer but when you are out and about you want the full choice of entertainment (music, videos etc) that is available at home. I don't want to be restricted to some subset of that, especially when I'm travelling alot

Plus any possible delay can make x10 to fail, once again

sorry but i dont really see what the excitement is over hd video, amoled or divx support.

hd video - just one more thing to drain my battery. More so than other features might i add. (I) dont need it. and you arent gonna tell me your going to film some ones wedding, for example, on your mobile? For on the spot quick videos, vga is fine. For other important things, id say a video camera is much better suited.

amoled - slightly more vivid colours and brighter, a deal breaker for people? For the every day consumer, definately not. I dont get any customers in at work and say, o i want a brighter screen with richer colours. A standard tft is sufficient for most, and the picture quality of a tft is definately more than sufficient. If you think otherwise, your lying to your self! Im sure you dont look at your current NON amoled screened phone and say, o i cant bare to use this, the quality is just terrible! Its not like your doing any design work on your phone, for example, where you could use 'richer colours'. Thats why we have computers (Macs in particular for artists etc) And the crap about amoled improving battery life? Lol please, the samsung jet and ultra touch batteries are will below par imho. (yes i have hands on experiences with them, work daily with them)

divx - what, people are ditching their home tv's now and watching movies on their phones? ive downloaded heaps of full movies, short videos, and i think maybe only 1 or 2 have been divx. And converting into divx? no thanks.

i dont get some people here, we complain about battery life every day, but yet we want these battery sucking features?

and it seems some are too consumed in mobiles. i mean, theres only so much we can want/complain about etc etc, but the way some people carry on is as if they lose sleep at night over mobile phones! plenty of other more important things to fight for!

not entirely directed at you sealover, just people in general!

ps. SE have confirmed a 2.0 update. And id say more than likely, SE will provide updates to 2.1 and so on.

I also don't want to see ATT's new data plan requirement for it if it does offer the x10. It's bad enough they're attempting to give incentives for users NOT to use so much data bandwidth on their networks.

This is exactly why I don't want ATT to get this phone. A subsidized price would be glorious, but not if we have to pay out the butt for data usage. I wonder if ATT would make us get the expensive data plan if we had unlocked X10s...guess it depends if they change their version of the X10 and call it something different (a la e71x).

I don't know about you, but I currently have unlimited 3G data on my phone for $20/month on top of my voice plan. I'm guessing w/ an unlocked X10, I would still be able to use my current data plan without having to change anything even IF they were to get one and modify it. But, I guess time will tell. definitely don't want to be paying $75+ for a plan like iphone users!

HD recording is important for making short clips of sth you want to remember and see on your HD TV in the future and not on a 4 inches screen..And anyway.. having this choice you don't mean that you have to record in hd all the time...

amoled - slightly more vivid colours and brighter, a deal breaker for people? For the every day consumer, definately not. amoled screens are thiner , do improve battery life , bright/vivid colors. Means thiner devices and more standby time..

divx - what, people are ditching their home tv's now and watching movies on their phones? ive downloaded heaps of full movies, short videos, and i think maybe only 1 or 2 have been divx. And converting into divx? no thanks.

So whats the point having 4 inches screen? Browsing facebook ???? Movies , tv series, videoclips .... all in divx format .. Subtitles is also an important feature if you don't speak english.. and i am tired all these years converting movies into mp4 format ...

ps. SE have confirmed a 2.0 update. And id say more than likely, SE will provide updates to 2.1 and so on.

How many people that want to buy a high-end phone know that??? This is called marketing.Future update and features like 16m colors / multitouch etc. won't be on the specs when the phone comes out.
For you and for me.. this is ok.. but this won't make the phone to be successful...

By the way.. you want one ??

X10 lovers seems to go down the road of the iPhone talibans.

If it's not in the phone it's absolutely not needed. No matter what's missing it's never a big deal.

Iphone:
3Mp cam>> I NEVER take pics
Multitasking: NOBODY uses that
MMS: Old Tech, E-mail is the shit
Flash: NO need, drains battery
Exhangeable battery: i'm NEVER away from an outlet.
No Radio: I NEVER use FM, i'd rather drain my battery with streamed radio.

X10:
No Radio: I NEVER use FM, i'd rather drain my battery with streamed radio.
No AMOLED: No need, slightly better, but i don't like it.
No 2.0: It will come, i like it, but for some reason it's good that it doeasn't ship with it...
No Built in memory: It's a feature, NOBODY needs more than 1+8GB (or was that 640k)
No HD recording: Never gonna use it, drains battery.
No Multitouch: Nobody ever use this, it's good it's not there.

I like the X10 and i will get one, but if a competiton comes up with something better i'm not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend it's crap because it's something else than an SE.

I for one say put it all in if you have the knowhow. it's not going to HURT me to have an extra feature even if i never use it.

LOL. I totally agree. Can't believe people are taking their wishes for fact. Even if it has been confirmed officially (which it hasn't clearly) that there will be an upgrade to 2.0 it will take months after the release (if ever). Hell, it took 2 months for them to release a minor update for Satio without any new features. How long do you think it will take before they convert their signature apps to Android 2.0, put it in firmware and test everything together? By that time (May-June?) there will come a new device, possibly with hardware that we miss here too.

I want to believe there will be an update to 2.0 for X10, but I won't buy it before it's out, that's for sure.

Looks like they better crack on if the rumour mill is to be believed:

Google handing out the Google phone to employees, will launch in January 2010?

Hardware partners be damned, Google is pursuing world domination and is doing so with its new Google phone. Plastered all over Twitter are enthusiastic tweets from Google employees and their friends expounding the awesomeness of a hot new HTC phone handed out to the them by mothership Google. The full touchscreen handset runs Android 2.1 and is supposedly slightly thinner than the Hero with a sexiness that “rivals the iPhone.” Did we mention it has a Snapdragon processor, high resolution OLED display and dual mics for noise reduction and advanced voice-to-text features? The Google phone will be built by HTC, customized to Google’s specifications and sold unlocked in early 2010 by Google. It has been suggested but not confirmed that the phone will support both T-Mobile and AT&T bands UMTS. According to Google, the phone has been handed out to employees so they can be the guinea pigs, testing out the new and exciting capabilities of this phone. If you’ve got one or have shots of it, you know where to head!
