Is there any major difference with a branded and non-branded Satio? |

Hey all
I have had my Vodafone branded Satio for a few days now and I have found the device sluggish and sketchy at times...
Now from past experience I know the Voda firmware to seriously slow a phone down (K850 and C905 are my personal examples) and when they have been set free from the branded crap they have performed so much better!!
I wonder if the same could be said for the Satio?
I have the chance to cancel my Voda Satio and take it out with CPW to get a vanilla handset so no branded anything and it would have all the original apps aswell...
Any thoughts or experience with both handsets? |

Branding always slows a phone though i find Orange branding worse. You could always debrand it but that may make the warranty invalid. Not quite sure how much Vodafone can brand a S60 device though i have seen an n95 before with Voda icons. So it might be branded alot

Well let me put it this way....
No matter where I go within the phone, id say 3/5 screens have a Vodafone symbol or related function/application...
Driving me bonkers! I love Voda as a network because I know them inside and out but I dont want them all over the intimate parts of my phone!! The operater logo is enough lol |

Vodafraud have always been the worst operator in the UK when it comes to branding with Orange a close 2nd.
Branding can affect the speed of the phone. But the bigger problem for me is when they disable functions. For example going back a couple of years ago i remember one particular event where vodafraud only allowed people to download mp3 files onto their branded phone via their website, and by paying them. You couldnt even Bluetooth a mp3 to your phone. Trust me, return the handset, go to CPW and get an unbranded one. Preferably on another network.
Thats criminal. Thats Vodafraud !

I have found Orange branding the worst especially in terms of how it looks too. The Orange branded icons look all the same colour and they seem like they been drawn by a 2 year old. Horrible Vodafone branding at least has improved.

@etaab
I have arranged for my handset to go back to Voda ready for me to get it from CPW...
Nightmare part is waiting for the handset to arrive back at Voda but if I go into store with proof of postage then they should be able to cancel the account before the phone arrives back....
Im very excited about getting a vanilla handset.... should be great!

I agree that the Voda branding is much nice than the others in terms of looks but it still buggers up what should be a very good handset! |

I've got the vodafone branded satio too....
Found it much better if you select the sony ericsson standby theme as it get rid of alot of the vodafone stuff (not all though)
settings-personal-standby -standby theme-sony ericsson
also once you do that select this theme, as all the icons etc.. look better.
