Does anyone know anything about tv's???, i am buying a new tele with a budget of £500, i have 2 choices a 42" plasma 600hz but only 768p HD , or a 42" Lcd 50hz but full 1080p HD , it will be used mainly for my xbox360 & watching dvds , i am worried 50hz won't be enough for my gaming as some games require at least 60HZ and motion blur will occur alot at 50HZ and 768p won't be as good as 1080p when watching films & tele.

LCD tv's give a longer life than plasma although plasma is better for fast motion & gives better colours. I would go with LCD since its just more reliable than plasma has longer life & gives just as good quality. There are pros & cons to both types but overall LCD wins for me I would say An LCD with 100hz is better than a plasma with 600hz imo. 600hz is a little over the top & not needed
Phone?? What phone??

Plasma tvs last just as long as lcds now, plasma tv's have come a long way i'm not botherd about lcd vs plasma, the trouble is £500 doesn't buy a full HD tele with at least 60HZ minuim size 32", so it's HZ or full HD , i might go with the plasma since i do alot of gaming and 768p HD is still better than my current tele with NO HD.

I brought the LG LH5000 in the end with full HD and 200hz, the plasma's looked rubbish the picture quality was awful dull and mucky, and out of all the lcd's the lg LH5000 gave the best colour and picture quality.
