Hey i have previously used the animations & sounds when writing an ems/sms, but i can`t seem to find them, i thought when writing a sms & tapping "edit" then "insert object" they should be there, but they are not, anyone with a p800 could you look in menu to confirm how to access them. (all i get are the smilys)

Go to Control Panel, Messaging Accounts, SMS: Settings should be:

-7 bit
-Extended Messaging (check it)
-Smileys (check it as well)

It is also for long messages... but don't worry, any message over 160 characters and the phone will always prompt you and warn you that your message is over 160, and if you're REALLY REALLY sure that you wanna send it!

Just like the T68i, the P800 shows you how many characters you're typing and how many messages your text will be broken up into including photos, animations, smileys, etc...

Yea nice that you get the full character countdown, rather than just the last 10 or so we got on the t68, how are you coping with the t9 thing, am i the ONLY person who likes the qwerty input system.

I never used T9... T9 requires that you LOOK at the phone while typing a message since you might send the wrong candidate word!

I always used multitap...even on the T68... so no big deal for me.

I never use the qwerty keyboard though... I love Jot! I got myself a Cross Matrix pen just for my P800!!!

I do however, want Sony's new Auto-complete feature that they developed last year. That would make typing emails a lot easier.

I'm also setting aside a small budget for eBooks... Oxford dictionaries and everything... I already have the beta version of Mobipocket reader...and it's worth it. Oxford allows on-the-fly spell/defenition check. And I get condensed versions of Time/Newsweek whenever I sync with my PC! So I'm happy.

I have 4 great games on my P800: MIB2, Stunt Run, Chess, and Doom.
For work, I have Mobipocket Reader w/ news, and some reference documents... all my Outlook contacts are always in sync now...as are my calendar/appointment entries.

Email is heaven on the P800... All my accounts are setup on it... and I even made a special filter on my home PC that forwards important emails to my phone...so at least I don't get spam on it.

I was impressed with Mobipocket reader, i just put "jtext" on it from this site, looks good for editing documents on the move but it is a bit slow on big stuff.

I find it strange that when I put an animation in a SMS, it shows that the animation only used 1 character of the SMS, on the T68, they took alot more! So I think that perhaps the animation takes a full SMS (160) char`s, but why doesnt it indicate that?

tried adding 5 animations, it only indicated that they took 5 char`s of space.. I highly doubt that, nothing saying that it took more than 1 SMS, but I`m pretty sure it does

Well i was confused by that so last night i added a few & noticed a little message flashed up (a blue box over the character counter) but i just added loads of stuff in one message & it wont do it. but like you , i don`t believe it will send 5 animations in one sms. as you said above my old t68 struggled with 2.
