Not sure if its been discussed before. But with todays tech hungry people with their mobiles constantly stuck to our ears, sending emails, texting & listening to music. Could any of you on here survive without your phone? I dont remember how i did before phones but i just did. Do you still constantly text phone and mail people whilst on holiday or do you turn it off sometimes? I once survived 2 weeks when i went to Greece on holiday. Before i went my phone broke and i had no time to sort it out so had to wait till i got back. I actually did enjoy myself and found myself forgetting about it and getting back to nature as they say. But could YOU survive if you had a choice?

Yes but life would be less streamlined for me.

I use my phone to keep in contact with the girlfriend since we live quite a distance from each other and cannot commute daily. But its more than that, in my job you either need an old fashioned paper organiser or PDA/mobile phone to keep track of tasks, appointments, meetings, events etc. I also find the need to carry a decent quality camera with me at most times as im also a bit of an amateur (mobile) photographer.

I can honestly say i use every single feature of my current N95 8gb, except for the email functionality. Ive found that over time i dont rely on my phone or necessarily need it, but life would be a lot more complicated without it. Id be carrying around many more items in order to perform all the functions a single phone does.

As a backup phone ive got a W880i - its brand new even though the phone was originally released AFAIK in 2007. No matter how much i love my Nokia smartphones, ive always carried a SE with me as they feel more personal rather than as a workhorse tool.

I'd have said no, but after iTunes 9.0 locked me out of 95% of my Apps (paid and free) including my internet banking App, the answer is a resounding YES and my iPhone is now on borrowed time...

I can and I did last year.
I served compulsory military service last year for about 5 months without a mobile phone.

When I finished I was so happy to be able to have my phone with me

Well, I guess I could if I had to, but I wouldn't want to do it if I had a choice. I'm sure I'm speaking for the majority here. Mobile phones are now an indispensable part of our lives. Whether it's for business or leisure, they help us organise our lives to a certain extent. It's not necessarily a good or bad thing, it's just the way society has evolved.
