Hi,
I downloaded Wayfinder Maps to my phone by using the software provided by the site. It tell that it will save money. Now to check this fact; i changed my internet profile to any other network so that application couldn't connect to internet. i opened Wayfinder and still it is showing the cached maps. What should i do so that i never need to connect to internet for Wayfinder.

I believe that the maps you load to your phone using their maploader program are only for offline browsing, and do not work for navigation.
I would just email their customer support to verify this though.
They have a support department you know |

Here is an old reply that I got from wayfinder, posted in this thread:

With Wayfinder Navigator you can save maps on your memorystick for use with C702, however you still have to have a working GPRS/3G connection to use wayfinder. With "pre loaded maps" you have less data downloaded to your C702, but you canīt access the stored maps without a working GPRS/3G connection (the application will not start). With preloaded maps you have a average data consumption about 30-60 kb/ hour while driving.
Unfortunately thereīs no complete onboard solution for C702 available from Wayfinder.
Hope it helps a bit.

but if you are driving in a remote location and lose your 3g connection for several minutes, will the maps stored on the memory card still be used while navigating?
I can see a benefit there if so. |
