Sony Ericsson with Wifi or GPS? |

I need some help though this decision is not for me personally as I would be able to decide this easily for myself
If you had a budget for a Sony Ericsson phone, and the budget offered a choice between 2 phones with similar specs, except one (A) has WiFi but no GPS, and the other (B) has GPS but no WiFi... what would be your choice?
in other words, do you rate WiFi as a more neccessary feature than GPS or the other way around?
A or B?

same here.
Definitely prefer WiFi on a phone. Used to have a standalone TomTom which I only used about twice in 2 years, and have used satnav on my phone only twice too, once when I got lost in back roads in the sticks in west wales and my phone struggled to get a gps fix so was pretty awful, the other time just to test out differences between garmin and google maps.
However, I use WiFi all the time when I have a phone with it on as it means I dont need to bother with a data add on as most places I use it (home, friends house, uni) all have WiFi hotspots.

I would prefer both but if I had to choose then I would have GPS as I can still get a data connection with 3G.

i prefer WiFi (A)
because next time, you can add GPS via external GPS (using bluetooth GPS or HGE 100).. but you can't have external WiFi |

I would go for WiFi (A) too... I see it as more practical... also, i think its a feature potentially more useable on a daily basis.

I prefer GPS... Simply because I'm never away from a pc for so long that I can't manage with internet on the phone, and I use the GPS when I go running, and when I do I want as few wires and stuff as possible, so MGH-100 (or what it's called), wouldn't work for me.
Currently NExus 4, but want Xperia ZR. |

I'd take the GPS as I have a good data plan and very good HSDPA network coverage which is faster than any broadband WiFi connection that I can use here. GPS helps me get to new places, even if it's only used once or twice a year, I'll always be glad it's there when I truly need it as I've always been

thats a very narrow view of the use of GPS?
in fact I never use any GPS capable phone I have for road navigation as the screen is too small, but I do use them alot for pedestrian city navigation, or cycling when I stop to check where I am, or orienteering or many other non-driving situations

GPS, unless you roam a lot, then it cuts your data costs quite a bit. 3G/bluetooth works even at home, I have never used WIFI too much, but GPS gets constant use. |

Well for me, I only use WiFi at home because there are no other places that I go to that actually have WiFi. It's not all that common to find an unprotected WiFi signal round these parts! And of course, when at home I have my laptop at the ready, so browsing on my phone would be a silly idea. Browsing internet on the go is always done through my 3G connection.
So I guess I have to say GPS for me (B), mostly because I can't find a use for WiFi beyond places where I can already access it without my phone. GPS for me, even though I don't yet have it, would be very useful for finding my way round, especially next year when I'll be living in a new city (hopefully). That's just one of the reasons I look forward to receiving my Aino tomorrow (again, hopefully).

I would prefer (A) Wifi but with stronger signal, because there is a lot of WIrelles services here, and if u wanna to catch some signal you should be on some high place... , but as signal is to low for my place i will give vote for (B) GPS |
