Satio - SMS problems |

Right, so help me out here, guys.
My lovely new Satio doesn't work. I configure it to send and receive SMS messages which all work fine. Then, 6 hours after, it only picks up new SMS messages when turning the phone on, or when sending an SMS. So, I reflash it from the SEUS and reconfigure it again. Everything works fine... until 6 hours later and now it only receives messages after a power cycle or after sending one.
Can anyone else tell me whether they are experiencing this sort of behaviour? At this rate, it's going back to the shop tomorrow.

Oh, and if you try and open the "new" SMS too soon after turning the phone on, then the messaging application is just black and requires the power to be re-cycled.

There had been same complaint with 5800XM user that i've read somewhere that the only time they would receive an SMS is when they reboot the phone. Have you try to hardreset it? |

Oh yes. Hard reset, reflashing the firmware. Giving myself a total blank canvas to start from. Is it an S60 thing, thing? |

Hi annax, just one question, Is your phone Branded (vodafone, t-mobile etc) or SIM free. Mine seems to be working fine at the moment (got her Tuesday).
Sometumes branded handsets have most of the annoyances because of the reconfigured software, thats why i will always buy SIM free in future. |

It's unlocked and unbranded. And going back. Very annoying! |

Hey, i'm having the same problem with my uiq3 phone g700. It gave me no problem for 9 months of non stop use, and one day this problem happened, still haven't tried reflashing, but i think there is no other solution other than master reseting the phone. |

Sony Ericsson suggested sending it back. So I took it back to Carphone Warehouse, where I got it swapped out for a new one (but not in the original shop as they'd run out).
New one (so far) seems to be fine, touch wood. I've tested SMS throughout the process of "customising" the phone so that I could ascertain if there was something that I'd done, but it works fine now, with ActiveSync working too.
Haven't gone into any of the "Cell Broadcast" or "Area Info" settings and keeping away from them, as I've a feeling that may be where I changed something. Although, of course, this shouldn't have made any difference.
Now all I need is a really nice case that can take the device and let me keep the headphones in too... |
