I set up IMAP on my new C902 yesterday and received maybe 2 emails (pushed) through it with no problem.
This morning I logged into my email to find an unread message which my phone didn't know about. I went onto my phone and selected check mail in the inbox but it just constantly says "connecting" until I cancel.

I have tried deleting my email profile and starting over, but I get the same problem. SSL is enabled, and I have 3-5 bars of signal with HSPDA.
I can send email fine with SMTP authentication settings set to "same as IMAP4"
My settings are
IMAP server imap.gmail.com
SMTP server smtp.gmail.com
Encryption: SSL
Port 993
Connect using: 3-3

The same thing happens for POP3 but I have investigated that much less.

I fiddled with each setting in turn until I decided it was a phone issue, because messing up every setting resulted in no error message. I decided that the problem was that when "connecting" the phone was not actually connecting to the internet.
I restarted the phone and now it actually connects to the server and works fine.

For the record, the SMTP port was 465 and was working fine.
