Hi, as the title says, i would like to know what are the causes for purple/blue fringing, and if they could be addressed by firmware updates or camdriver modification...

Thanks in advance!

NOTE: I'm asking this in the context of the W995 specifically, I'm thinking of buying it, but would like to know if camera could improve a bit...

Same thing happened with most P1s... Some of them had green tint on the camera pictures which happened to be hardware problem, so camera driver and firmware, as said above, won't help... You would have to live with your phone the way as it is.

You can suppress it by controlling your ev and stepping it down reasonably which will make your photos appear a tad less brighter than with auto
