no, unlocking merely allows your phone to use sim cards from other networks.
debranding changes the actual operating system from a network customised one to a generic one which does not have network specific features/options etc
these are two separate things

right so does debranding also unlock the phone, in other words I don't have to debrand and unlock, my phone will be vodafone UK which from what I have read is not sim locked anyway but I want to at least debrand it as though I bought it from CFW |

Debranding means removing customizations from certain operators. Unlocking means that you will be able to put the sim card you desire to your phone. These are two different things.

I am hearing more and more that phones supplied in the UK by Vodafone are already unlocked but still have the branding, can anyone confirm this |

Yes the Vodafone handset is already unlocked, that is standard practice for all Vodafone handsets (excluding the BB Storm lol) |

does debranding invalidate the manufacturers warranty or can it be flashed back with say vodafone branding again ? |
