I am having this issue with Nokia N82 for some time now. One i go out of range of the service provider (eg. in a lift in basement floor) even though i come back in range the phone refuses to restore network connectivity. Trying to manually select network also fails. Only option is to restart the phone. Another friend of mine who uses an E63 also reported the same issue. is there any solution for this issue?

It does take them sometime depending where you are and network, my N81 usualy manages to pick it right back up with in 2mins when in poor coverage which is long. A way around it would be to set your phone Offline then back to the profile you were using, basicaly what that does is turn the antenna off then back On and will make the phone reconnect. When setting it Offline make sure it gets that cross where the reception bar is before turning it back. Just click the Power button, Offline is near the bottom.

I am also using an N82 but mine gets back the signal reception very easily when it is lost (i.e. when I'm on a basement parking tor when on an elevator). Is your phone updated to the latest firmware (v. 31)?

I am still on v20 as v31 is not properly hackable. I have tried setting offline but it did not work.

My phone is on v. 31 and it is hacked with Heloox 1.03. I have no problem with regaining network signal when I go out of coverage. Comparing the reception of my N82 to my WM Asus P735, I'd say that the N82 has better call reception.
