Was: Google Maps - W995

For some reason I do not have Google Maps in the Location Services menu.

Any ideas as to why?

Thanks.

It was missing out of the box. Under the Location Services icon I have Tracker, My Favourites, Status Info and Settings.

Maybe your phone is branded, where did you buy it?... is it on contract?.. if so, which company?

Maybe your firmware didnt include the software, you could change your CDA via A2Uploader, or maybe another member could extract it for you to install it. Lets wait confirmation for another W995 O2 user, to check if its a firmware issue...

That's weird. Are you sure they're first hand or nobody messed around without it before you got it? It's common practice that a vendor would do a hard reset before re-selling a second hand phone so that it appears new. Or perhaps it's just the O2 firmware that has omitted it. Either way, if you really need it you can just download it from google and install it as an application. Not sure if Google Latitude is already available for download though but it probably is

The phone was brand new so maybe it's an O2 thing. The Location Services section never seems to work much anyway. Neither does WiFi.
