The 3 inch WQVGA (240 x 400 pixels) touchscreen extends almost to the edges of the LG GD510 with a narrow 4.8 mm bezel giving the illusion of an uninterrupted sheet of glass. The same thing we have on the iPhone.

"We gave the LG GD510 an optimized feature set which allowed us to concentrate on making the phone more compact and simpler to use," said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "Our high-end phones like the Black Label Series New LG Chocolate (LG BL40) may be getting all the attention but there's a gap in the market for affordable touchscreen phones that we want to fill. The LG GD510 delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment and comes in a compact form factor as well."

The GD510 has a 3 megapixel camera and 8 GB of internal memory. One of the accessories available for the GD510 is a Solar-Powered Charger. It will be interesting to see how much extra standby time this unusual charger will give.

LG GD510 will be available beginning in mid-October in Europe, followed by other markets. Prices will vary country-to-country and will be announced separately in each individual market.

Looks quite sleek and no doubt another success in terms of sale. Is it going to be similar price as its another Cookie type phone? Does the camera have auto focus this time? I like the solar panel its good. And 8 giga byte of internal memory for a budget phone is great but can it be expanded too?

Yes, it does have a 3MP camera.. but it has 42MB internal memory - microSD expandable up to 8GB according to LetsGoMobile.org, GSM Arena and some other websites say 16GB microSD expandable.... so.

For under £80 this doesn't seem like a bad phone and not ugly either

Well it is yes. I have read on forums that not many people so far have complained about the phone. So maybe LG have sorted their software issues. In a survey last year they were voted most unreliable mobiles

It isn't ugly, but maybe just because LG are making their best to copy IPhone and they're getting closer and closer which every new device.

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

I thought so yes in terms of features quality and its screen with 800x480 pixels was stunning. It was just so unreliable always freezing shutting down screen sometimes flickered and suffered from screen burn. Battery was terrible. But apart from that using the S Class 3D interface was amazing for web browsing too it was great. Its got everything look it up though as far as i know its being phased out soon.
