As the title suggests, I'm wondering if it has ever happened ie Walkman 2.0 upgraded to Walkman 3.0 through firmware update and whether it is possible SE would give us 3.0 users an upgrade shocker to 4.0 (if they are not full of themselves anymore and understand this is the sort of thing they need to do to start competing seriously rather than simply come up with another specced phone)

No, this has never happened before, and it will not happen. You can be sure in that.

Its sad, but i also think it will never happen, although it should, would make 1 or 2 customers extremely happy 
EDIT: I think if they combine this with a smaller and better specced portfolio, they would could get a better position overall... What do you think?
