Sony Ericsson Satio/Yari/Aino release dates confirmed
September 23rd 2009
Posted by: Jonathan Morris
We have a confirmed release date for the long-awaited Satio (formerly known as Idou) touchscreen mobile with 12-megapixel camera, as well as the Aino and Yari models.
The Satio will be released in the second week of October on all networks and available at all retailers.
The Carphone Warehouse will be stocking the handset in an exclusive silver finish, while the ordinary models will be in black.
T-Mobile will be releasing the handset later in November.
Aino will be released on O2 as an exclusive in white, while Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse will stock the standard black version. The phone will be supplied with a Sync station and Bluetooth headset. Like Satio, Aino will be released on the same date.
Yari will be coming to Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse - also on the same date.
Finally, the more recently announced Xperia X2 - exclusive to Vodafone - will be coming before Christmas and come in black.

I'm a bit peeved about O2 getting the white exclusive. I'm getting sick of having to debrand every time I get a new phone.

@goldenface
"..on all networks" would mean globally?
same release date in the APAC region?

@crossmatched
I seem to remember reading that the UK would have the phones released first with other countries to follow. Haven't seen the full release schedule sorry.

Are you completely off your head? An unwanted upgrade will be much cheaper and I do know how to debrand without paying for it.
We'll see.

Well I'll have one month left on my contract by the time these are released so I might just take the plunge. I want the white version but don't like O2's network one bit.

I already sold my 5800 and I'm so ready for Satio (yey). I've missed a touchscreen device cause my finger hurts using a regular keypad. |

The screen on the C905 I'm using hasn't got one single scratch or blemish on it after almost a year of abuse. I'm hoping the screen on Aino will stay the same. Can I expect this even though it's a touch screen?
I hope so.

Unfortunately buying from Carphone Warehouse will get you a branded model as well now. I know all their SE and LG have been branded with Carphone Warehouse's own firmware for quite a few months now as i've bought a few SE's and LG's from them. My current copper bronze C905 is a Carphone Warehouse branded model even though I bought it at the handset only price and my girlfriends LG Crystal is also a Carphone Warehouse branded model even though she got it from them on her Vodafone upgrade. Easily debranded though.
Only difference I can see on my C905 is there is a CPW navigator application installed. Other than that everything else looks the same as one bought straight from the manufacturer.

Ah, well that doesn't sound too bad. O2 aren't as bad as Orange UK who totally murder their fw.
Their C905 fw disabled the shortcut menu completely - I mean, what's the point of doing that.
