Has anyone got any photos of any phones that they have taken apart? Having just got a w995 I was always wondering what the slide part looks like behind it & what actually holds it together. I know it sounds boring but was just interested as I certainly am not taking my w995 apart When we get so many wobbly sliders just wanted to see what holds it in place. Thanks

I've taken a s500 apart, the slider is 2 pieces of metal like a metal plate thingy and the plastic housing is screwed on to it.

Thats exactly how it is on the N81 as well. Took it apart two months ago cause of an annoying dust spec on the screen lcd, and found the screen sitting on top of the top metal slide plate, and it has a little rotating type arm thing under it, the one that makes the slide all the way after you've given it a push if you know what i mean, what gives it that "spring mechanism". Also the flex cable that connects the screen and top buttons to the main board.

Don't you just hate the ever occuring problem of dust under the screen? Can't manufacturers ever seal the screens properly?

So true. Although my K850 has been fine, not a single spec of dust in its screen, my N81 was fine to it was due to the technician who fixed it when it had gone in, who ever he is he wasnt very careful when he had disassembled it, and dust got on to the screen. I could have taken it back but the thought of being without my main phone for another month was just not cool. Lol!
Hows the W995? Any signs of dust on its screen?

No dust under my screen no but there is one spec under the c510 screen but mostly its only seen in daylight. I will check out that Google search. The worst phones ever for dust under the screen were k750 w800 and some old Nokia phones like 6280. Really bad they were.
