This is probably a silly question but i was just wondering if there was a way of having the same phone number on two separate sim cards?

This is possible, you'll have to ask your network provider. Depends on where you live, though, in my country, the networks support it only for business contracts.

Not heard of any such service in the U.K but its nice to know that it is possible

So now my question would be if anyone knows what and if any network in the U.K does this?

Hi,
Have asked o2 and Vodafone about this before but so far with no luck, thought i could keep one in Business phone, and one in private phone, the theory being that i use only one at a time, but emails and texts and contacts are all uploaded to each phone, thereby i could only have to sync each phone each day for all items to be deleted, updated and duplicated, as i require, giving me the full use of 2 devices. Now i write it down it sounds like bollocks, but at the time it made sense to me.

I totally get what your trying to say thats basically what i need it for instead of swapping the same sim from my business to my social phone

So i guess i should give up on this one as its not possible?

Strange this is not possible in the UK then
In the Netherlands you can have these so-called "duo-sims", when you're on a business-contract, but you can use only one at a time.

As Bonovox mentioned above Orange U.K does do Line2 which is 2 numbers on same sim same card but not the same number on 2 seperate sims which is what i'm after

Edit: Spoke to soon Orange has now stopped doing line 2 for new customers so its no longer available
