The Vista partiton is properly screwed up and I need to do a fresh install, but it says boot from CD and then does nothing no matter how long I leave it. Any ideas how to get it too boot from CD again? Cheers (+10 -0) WoRld Tour 7 User!

jlsonic Joined: Jun 28, 2003 Posts: 235 From: Carrickfergus, United Kingdom PM	Posted: 2009-09-14 01:01 Do you happen to have McAfee AV installed - had a vista laptop doing this recently and it was infected with the Ucad.sys virus which caused McAfee to recognise itself as a virus and hung on boot exactly like yours is doing. I had to go in in safe mode, disable McAfee (dangerous) and then use various tools to get rid of the virus before re-enabling the AntiVirus. BTW the Ucad.sys virus got in by the user clicking on one of those "your PC may be infected. Scan now?" popups.
