Im about to buy a new laptop and I know that the sound quality from any laptop is poor really.

So im looking for a good set of speakers that will plug into my laptop and also my ipod and provide sound that will be good enough to watch films, listen to a lot of music and have brilliant sound quality.

Any advice (I use my laptop a lot and listen to music from it all the time, from casual listening to playing it loud to get me in the mood to go out)

(can spend up to £100)

Thanks
Max

I use these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logit[....]tronics&qid=1252171971&sr=8-10

Haven't even turned them up past half way yet as the windows rattle with Bass on high. On the volume dial you can control the Bass as well so pretty handy. My mate has a pair of Bose 2.1 speakers, and I find these a bit better... was going to buy the Bose but heard these and had more Bass + a lot louder.

Look around for a deal as I think i got mine from amazon a year ago for £80inc Del. BNIB

I use these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logit[....]k/dp/B000BSTXFE/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

They have the bass control same as KK.226 and are brilliant, so I can only imagine how good KK.226's are!

I have just joined your search for some new speakers as my amp has packed in. My mate has the logitech z-2300 and they are really good, i think i might get them or splash out and get the Bose 5.1. I know which one i want but the bank balance is saying otherwise.

Anyone have the Bose 5.1?

Had them since January, and if you can factor out the cost, I'd give 'em a firm 8/10. Not 10/10, purely because the virtual 5.1 needs a perfect environment; example, I can't use it because I don't have 30cm (or whatever) clear to the side of the left speaker. But for the sound, especially the bass, even at low volumes, they're brilliant. I doubt any other speaker this size can reproduce sound so perfectly!

If i am playing songs via itunes will it still try and reproduce 5.1 or only when watching films?

Also i know they connect via USB, is there an option on the remote to connect something that does not have USB? Say an ipod without using your laptop?

You need to head into Audio MIDI Setup to enable 5.1, when you do this, it will only try to reproduce 5.1 if there is a 5.1 output, so films etc. only. Everything else is as it should be, though they don't get on with some apps and games, such as SIMS 3, where you just get noise that (very) vaguely sounds like what it should.
There's a line in/out on the front of the remote, so yeah, no problems with iPods etc. while the computer is switched off.

my friend has the Concept E Magnum PE from teufel.
but if you just want to spend like 149€ i think the Concept C 100 should do their work.
the speakers are much better than logitech or other stuff for that price
cheers
