I've just acquired the above lappy but with no hard drive, anyone got a spare drive, pref 20gb or more in size? I can give you some money for it as long as it fits the laptop and fully works.

Was looking on eBay and there's a huge choice of HDDs but not sure what'll fit/work!

Bump, forgot to say it's the 2.5" size! Btw I'm also after info on what to get if no one's got a spare drive, any info's useful!

Some specs on the original HDD if that helps:

My eldest lads now broken lappy is a tosh, the HD is a goner, the connection is generic tho, only the fitting of it is specific to the model. Any 2.5" HD should fit, try a local independant computer store as they might try one before your purchase it

Cheers, I now have a generic 2ndhand Fujitsu 40Gb HDD, however the Tosh has a proprietary connector so need one of those to connect the HDD, now looking for one of those if anyone has an old tosh S3000 laptop they don't use and wouldn't mind cannibalising for spares
